Unemployment Crisis: Senate Leader Urges Nigeria To Emulates Japan, Israel

Senate leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba has urged those in position of authority in Nigeria to emulate Japan and Israel, through creation of employment opportunities, in order to avoid what he termed ‘time bomb.’

According to him, Japan and Israel were able to excel and surpass expectations, despite lacking in natural endowments by embarking on massive education for the youths and creating employment opportunities.

Ndoma-Egba spoke in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, after he was awarded “Most Outstanding Senator in Nigeria,” by the Post Graduate Student Union Government, University of Calabar.

He said going by a recent projection that in some years to come, 30 per cent of youths under 30 years would be black, Nigeria, as the most populous black nation in the world, would most likely form the bulk of that projection and it would therefore be a time- bomb in waiting, if most Nigerian youths were not educated.
